Facebook, the the Social Networking giant has announced it’s latest milestone in terms of users – 300 million worldwide.
The latest figure was reached recently and announced on Facebook’s blog by Mark Zuckerberg founder and CEO of Facebook.
He commented on the growth of Facebook: “Over time, Facebook will continue to be as strong as all of the connections you make. We’ll continue building new and better things to make connecting with the people you care about as easy and rewarding as possible. We thank all of you for helping us reach the point where we are connecting 300 million people, and we hope to serve you and many more people in increasingly deep and innovative ways in the months and years ahead.”
The latest announcement shows that the leading Social Network is continuing to grow extremely quickly with no signs of slowing down, particularly when you note that it took a mere 5 months to increase users by 100 million to reach 300 million users from 200 million earlier in the year.
Furhermore, Facebook Statistics show that the growth from 100 million users to 300m took just over a year (approx 13 months).
Twitter may well get double the press and media coverage that Facebook receives but it’s user figures are but a fraction of Facebook’s worldwide dominance.
