There are now over 23 million active Facebook users in the UK according to the Social Ads platform.
Facebook has grown massively over the past 2 years, with the UK usage figures growing by over 13 million since January 2008. Something that is particularly interesting is that Facebook user numbers in the UK have steadily grown at a very similar rate for the past 6 months and from July 2009 user numbers have grown by around one million users per month.
We have also conducted further research into Facebook user stats and Facebook user demographics in the UK.

On a worldwide basis, Facebook have recently updated their stats which make for very interestig reading!
- More than 350 million active users
- 50% of our active users log on to Facebook in any given day
- More than 35 million users update their status each day
- More than 55 million status updates posted each day
- More than 2.5 billion photos uploaded to the site each month
- More than 3.5 billion pieces of content (web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photo albums, etc.) shared each week
- More than 3.5 million events created each month
- More than 1.6 million active Pages on Facebook
- More than 700,000 local businesses have active Pages on Facebook
- Pages have created more than 5.3 billion fans

Not sure how this was missed off but there are currently 2,092,300 Facebook users aged 50+ in the UK. Making up almost 10% of all UK users.
