Twitter is now the second fastest growing social media site on the planet

According to the Global Web Index, Twitter is now the second fastest growing social media site, beating Facebook and Google+.

Since the launch of the micro-blogging site in 2009, the statistics show a growth rate of 714% monthly active users and an overall increase of 21% of the worldwide population now active.
