Video Ad Types

Video Ads come in all shapes and sizes to suit your campaign goals.

Different video platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo all have different “Ad Types” which are available for advertisers to use. 95% of our video advertising campaigns are carried out via YouTube – the world’s largest and most watched online video provider. YouTube have a range of different “Ad Types”.

 

Before Video Ads – These are video ads which show prior to playing the video that you have chosen to view. These ads can be targeted to play in advance of specific videos, video theme, or specific demographics of the viewer. Typically, ads are short and instantly captivating to maximise the chance of the viewer watching the full ad. Clicks on the video ad, or within the video ad, can send users to your website to either buy or find out more about your product or service.

Beside Video Ads – These are ads for your video content, which appear the top right hand side of the “video play page”. These ads can also be targeted to appear next to specific videos, video theme or specific demographics of the viewer. Clicks on the ads will take the viewer to the “video play page” so the viewer can watch your content. The viewer may then choose to visit your website via the links within your video or video channel page.

Search Video Ads – These are ads for your video content which appear in the search results page, after the user performs a YouTube keyword search. These ads can also be targeted to appear in the search results for specific keywords, keyword themes, or specific demographics of the viewer. Clicks on the ads will take the viewer to the “video play page”, so the viewer can watch your content. The viewer may then choose to visit your website via the links within your video or video channel page.

Display Ads – These are simply graphical display ads which appear in various places within YouTube.

These ads can also be targeted to appear next to specific videos, video theme, or specific demographics of the viewer. Clicks on these ads take the user directly to your website.

Mastheads/Takeovers – These are bespoke (and generally more expensive) ad types which can be placed in various places throughout YouTube. These are charged on an individual basis, typically on a cost per day or CPM basis.

Exclusive placements, such as full homepage takeovers are available, but they do require sizeable budgets.

Pricing

Not as expensive as you might think

The first most common misconception is that video advertising is for big brands only. This is most definitely not the case. Whatever your budget, video advertising can work for you.

Depending upon the type of video ads we choose to use, different pricing models apply, but many of the ads are available on a CPC (Cost per click) or CPV (Cost per view) basis. Prices for clicks/views can be as low as 0.04p depending upon your targeting preferences.

Pricing for more bespoke advertising, such as Home Page Mastheads/Takeovers, are typically priced on a cost per day or on an impressions basis. We can quote individually on request. Please call for details.
