Instagram Introducing New Algorithm

With the platform’s monumental growth spurt in popularity, more and more users are now sharing more and more content on Instagram and because we’re being bombarded with so much information, on average, people are missing 70% of the content on their feeds.
In an attempt to improve user experience, Instagram are now introducing an algorithm that will display images and videos in order of what they think you care about most rather than chronologically (much like Twitter, and Facebook have done). Don’t worry too much about missing out on posts though, as Instagram have said:
‘The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. As we begin, we’re focusing on optimising the order — all the posts will still be there, just in a different order”
There have been negative vibes flowing around already about this change, because quite simply: humans don’t like change! However, just as with Twitter and Facebook, I’m sure we’ll all get over it pretty quickly, and the Instagram of before will be a distant memory. It will be tough, but somehow I think we’ll struggle through.
