Instagram Launch 'Stories'

Instagram now has over 500 million users, 300 million of these use the photo sharing platform every single day!
Yesterday they announced on their blog that they were introducing a new feature, title: ‘stories’. This new feature is very much inspired by (or a complete imitation of) Snapchat. We don’t blame Instagram for following in Snapchat’s footsteps, as in June they surpassed Twitter for number of daily users with 150 million users.

Instagram said yesterday: ‘Today, we’re introducing Instagram Stories, a new feature that lets you share all the moments of your day, not just the ones you want to keep on your profile. As you share multiple photos and videos, they appear together in a slideshow format: your story.’
With the story disappearing after 24 hours, users don’t have to worry about spamming their followers news feeds by over posting. You can also choose who can see your story, and monitor who has viewed it too.

Instagram recently launched a video channels feature in their explore page too, allowing users to watch video’s that may be of interest to them in a separate feed to the images that are posted.
