Rhodri’s marathon for Claire House

A couple of weeks ago, several members of our team at Clicky took part in the Wirral 10k to help raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice. Combined with a charity auction held at our recent Clicky Agency Strategy day, these events helped raise over £770 for Claire House… so a massive thank you to everyone who helped contribute towards this amount!

Following on from the 10k, on Sunday 7th October (in just over 2 weeks now) a member of our Strategy and Insights team, Rhodri, will be running the Chester Marathon to help raise money for Claire House. This is not his first marathon, so he knows what he’s letting himself in for…!

“Having ran a marathon last year I told myself on multiple occasions I wasn’t going to train and run one this year.  However, having been inspired by the fundraising efforts Clicky has achieved for Claire House, and the comradery of the running club every week (headed up by our unofficial running coach, Hayley), I felt inspired to do my part to help support such a good cause”.

“Although I’ll be the first to admit I probably have the physique more of a prop forward in rugby than a runner, I have become a keen runner (well, slower jogger) over recent years, running numerous events for a number of very worthwhile charities, from 10ks to marathons.  As soon as I mentioned to other staff members at Clicky that I was considering running this year’s Chester Marathon, everyone was extremely supportive. They have definitely helped spur me on over the last few months of training… especially during the heatwave in the summer!”

The Chester Marathon is taking place on Sunday 7th October at 9am. If you would like to donate, you can do so via Rhodri’s JustGiving page.
