From humble beginnings to 50 staff & some incredible clients.
Our largest and most advanced web project for Halton Housing launches earlier in the year and we win new business from exciting international brands such as Raleigh and Reevoo.
We are proud to grow to a team of 50, servicing a wider range of clients across more channels than ever before in our history. We continue to focus on efficiencies, investing more heavily in our team and their development alongside our working environment.
We refocus our 5 year strategy, brand values and ethos, and redefine Clicky’s strategic brand positioning, leading us to the launch of our new website and further develop our own agency management system, Space. We place great emphasis on our corporate social responsibility, having committed 1% of annual profits to our partner charity, Claire House.
We strive to offer our clients a better service and value proposition, whilst providing our team with an interesting, inspiring and creative place to work.
We set the record for a number of new team members joining the business, significantly improving our capabilities and resulting in our best ever performance across client satisfaction and growth as well as revenue and profitability.
Each individual department grows successfully, including our newly formalised ProSupport offering. Client results and agency output is at a new high and we successfully build upon our developing client base.
For the first time, Clicky properly ventures outside of Chester to establish our new Nottingham Office, based in the heart of the city’s Creative Quarter. We hold an exciting launch event and new recruits soon expand our numbers to support our growing local customer base.
We celebrate our 10-year anniversary in style, with an exclusive ‘takeover’ of Chester Zoo for both the team and their families, where guests enjoy everything from a private tour of the zoo, a special barbecue to kangaroo sumo wrestling!
We establish a more official Leadership and Management structure, enabling us to promote a number of our fantastic long-serving team members into more senior roles within the business. This helps us prepare for continued expansion whilst supporting our ambitious growth plans.
Our official Premier Google Partner status is a plaudit we still retain. The accreditation is real acknowledgement from Google that we consistently deliver a quality service and are effective in achieving exceptional performance and ROI for our clients. We now spend in excess of £2m on behalf of our clients.
Our longstanding client The Global Travel Group invites us to Dubai for their big annual travel conference. We are the official digital media sponsor and present to over 400 delegates, all whilst capturing the entire event as their selected videography partner.
Our largest web project to date for Darwin Escapes launches and this is the year in which we cement our reputation as travel and tourism industry experts, working with the likes of Eurochange, Elegant Resorts and Toad Hall Cottages on a number of exciting large research and web design projects.
Such is our commitment to delivering performance-driven, truly market disrupting sites, we dedicate extensive resource to data and analysis phases from which our discovery, strategy and insights offering is created. We also establish a new in-house videography service as a result.
We partner with a number of key new clients such as Travis Perkins, DayInsure and Marketing Cheshire, achieving transformational results. We are fortunate enough to be shortlisted for a plethora of awards across categories as diverse as digital business, web project, digital campaign and most entrepreneurial company of the year.
We hold our first annual Clicky team awards, year-end company performance review and agency-wide planning day to establish our ambitious targets for the year ahead.
We reach the £1m turnover milestone we’ve been targeting and with our ever continuing expansion, we now have over 20 team members. The rapid growth means that we need even more office space, so we acquire our neighbouring building to ensure we have enough room to house us all (which involved knocking through walls!).
We also launch Clicky 2.0, our new website, setting the standard for the level of design and development work we deliver for clients. At this point, we still don’t have a dedicated sales team and all our enquiries are generated from our own digital marketing strategy and client referrals. The website receives numerous plaudits and positions us well in the market. We are also named ‘Standout Agency of the Year’ at the 2014 DEA Awards against impressive competition, which further showcases our ability to compete with other agencies much larger than ourselves.
2013 is an exciting year with a number of notable new wins across brands such as Dualit, Olympus, Ted Baker, Thomas Pink, Euler Hermes, Manchester City Council and South Australian Tourism. Following the success of our Facebook service offering and driven by the exponential growth in popularity of such sites, we begin advertising across the likes of YouTube, Twitter and Linkedin.
Smartphone ownership becomes more mainstream and usage more prevalent so we make the decision to develop all our sites to be fully responsive. We also develop our first app for the NHS this year.
Following a number of new client wins in the City, we also acquire office space in London to enable us to service our growing customer base in the region.
We celebrate our 6th year in business with the inaugural Clicky Olympics, which would later become our annual agency success celebration.
After noticing the results we were been achieving for clients and our sustained growth, we are encouraged to enter a number of awards by a local client. This is very much a first for the business and isn’t something we have previously considered.
As Cheshire’s most prestigious awards for business performance, we are thrilled to be recognised. We have since been honoured to win numerous awards for our team, projects and results but this initial award in particular propels our reputation in the industry.
Armed with a new business strategy and expansion plan, we decide to triple our office space, allowing us to grow in the future to over 25. We relocate to a new three-story office which still forms part of our HQ today.
We refine our structure and develop departments whilst implementing new processes to improve efficiencies and the service we provide. Many more clients begin working with us on an ongoing basis and we celebrate 5-year partnerships with several key customers.
Social Media now accounts for almost half of our work and we have more web projects in the schedule than ever before. We offer mobile marketing services to reflect the increasing popularity and use of smartphone devices.
Almost all our clients now rely on Clicky to manage more than one area of their digital marketing mix. As well as practising what we preach to generate new opportunities, referral becomes our leading source of new business.
Our evolving portfolio of services prove extremely popular. Development, Design and Social Media specialists join the team to enhance our newly diversified offering, increasing our level of expertise.
Our client list gets more impressive by the day as we begin to partner with a number of recognisable national brands, delivering multi-channel digital campaigns and solutions.
Simply a room in Murlain House Business Centre, our first professional base isn’t much, but there’s enough space for 5 of us, with access to meeting facilities to accommodate our growing client base.
It isn’t long before we need to re-consider our options. We grow in numbers and are soon on the lookout for a new office.
Our initial head office is a back-bedroom in a small house in the Cheshire countryside. We may have grown but we’re proud to retain our original client-centric, ambitious and results-driven ethos that continues to fuel our approach today.
Two months after incorporating the business, the world plunges into an unprecedented recession. Nobody said it was going to be easy and we do love a challenge!
