A Charity Chop For Claire House

Our chosen charity for 2018, Claire House, helps to provide care and respite for seriously ill children and young people.

Providing a welcoming environment, Claire House adapts to the needs of each individual, ensuring they have the chance to make wonderful memories, something that is so endlessly valuable to their families. First opening in 1998, the hospice has grown to look after over 400 families, extending support to them at every step in the child’s illness.

A couple of months ago, I had the opportunity to visit Claire House with some of my Clicky colleagues. Seeing the facilities, from the art room to the hydrotherapy pool and meeting the staff, it was truly moving to see the hard work that’s put into making each person’s time at the hospice special. The staff at Claire House go above and beyond and their dedication to uplifting those around them is admirable.

When you get to visit somewhere as special as Claire House, it is hard not to be inspired to help in some way so I decided to take the plunge and get a big chop for charity.

On 19th April, I will be getting 8+ inches of my hair cut off and donating it to be made into a wig for children who struggle with hair loss. By doing so, I’ll also be fundraising with all proceeds going to Claire House Children’s Hospice. Any donation, big or small, will truly be appreciated and help to support those who turn to Claire House in some of the darkest times of their lives. If you would like to donate, please visit my Just Giving page.
