Chris Marr Joins Clicky as Web Development Lead

Chris Marr has joined Clicky as our Web Development Lead, and there is a lovely twist: he first applied to us more than fifteen years ago. With twenty years of building big, complex web projects behind him, Chris is here to bring a modern approach to how we build and to scale our web offering over the next twelve months.

Chris Marr Joins Clicky as Web Development Lead

Some hires feel like a full-circle moment. This is one of them.

Chris Marr has joined Clicky as our Web Development Lead, and there is a lovely detail buried in his story that makes this one special. Chris first applied to Clicky more than fifteen years ago, in the early days of the agency. The timing was not right back then (for him or for us), so he went off and spent the better part of two decades building some genuinely big, complex web projects. Now, fifteen years later, he is walking through the door as the person who will lead our web offering into its next chapter.

I could not be happier about it.

Twenty years of building the web

Chris brings around twenty years of hands-on web development experience to the team. Over that time he has designed, architected and shipped large, ambitious builds, the kind of projects that have to be fast, robust and built to scale, not just to look good on launch day. That depth matters. Modern web development is no longer simply about making something that loads and looks nice. It is about performance, accessibility, security, maintainability, and building platforms that grow with a business rather than holding it back. Chris has done exactly that, at scale, repeatedly, for years.

It is rare to find someone with that much real-world experience who is also genuinely excited about where the web is heading next. Chris is both, and you feel it the moment you talk to him.

Reigniting our web offering

Web has always been part of what we do at Clicky, but bringing Chris in is a deliberate decision to take it to the next level. His brief is simple to say and exciting to deliver: bring a modern approach to how we build, and scale our web offering over the next twelve months.

In practice that means modern tooling and standards, sites that are faster and better built from the foundations up, design and development working hand in hand, and the kind of processes that let us take on bigger and more ambitious projects with confidence. For our clients, it means web work that is quicker, more reliable, and built on genuinely current foundations rather than yesterday's shortcuts.

The busiest we have ever been

The timing could not be better. We have never had a busier roster, and right now we are working on some of the biggest and most ambitious web builds in Clicky's history. I will not name names just yet, but these are large, complex projects that demand serious development leadership, and having someone of Chris's calibre steering the build side gives me total confidence in what we are going to deliver.

Chris applied to Clicky fifteen years ago, and it has taken us this long to get him. Some things are worth the wait. He is exactly the right person to lead our web team into its next era, and the projects we are building right now deserve nothing less.

So please join me in welcoming Chris to the team. The next twelve months are going to be a brilliant period for web at Clicky, and I am genuinely excited about what we are going to build together.

Welcome aboard, Chris. Fifteen years in the making, and worth every one of them.
