Clicky Island Discs / Bryony

Inspired by the legendary Desert Island Discs of BBC radio, we’ve asked the Clicky team; before they’re castaway on a remote desert island in the middle of nowhere with only themselves as company, what 5 songs, book and luxury item would they take with them?
This time, it’s the turn of our newest recruit Bryony to share her picks…

The Wurzels – The Blackbird
I’m originally from Somerset, and if you’re from the South West you’ll understand loving the Wurzels is almost compulsory. Although anyone else ‘Up North’ would probably groan when I put on a Wurzels song I really do love them.

Meat Loaf – Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad
Meat Loaf was almost on loop at home growing up and always makes me smile when I hear one of his Songs. Choosing just one song though is quite tricky, but this is definitely one of my favourites.

Slim Dusty – Waltzing Matilda
The was my Granfer’s favourite song, It’s a song I love because it was his favourite and I always think of him when I hear it.

The Lion King Cast – Circle of Life
Known to my friends as not only a lover of Disney but also a regular attendee at the theatre this would tick two boxes for me as covering both areas!

The Lumineers – Ho Hey
I have a quote from this song that hangs on my wall, at the time I didn’t realise that the quote was song lyrics so listening to it makes me smile and it’s also a great happy song as well.

The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien
I’m a bit of a book worm but most of the books I read come in trilogy’s or long series so this is a difficult question. The thought of only having one book out of a series is a little distressing so unless I can take an entire series, or my Kindle (and electricity to charge it) I’d go with The Hobbit because it’s not only a classic but a book that is endlessly re-readable!

Luxury item

A lifetime without a cuddle seems a pretty sad thing to me, so I’d take my rather large Disney Dumbo soft toy. It was a gift, and really rather awesome (especially for a cuddle) so this is definitely the luxury item I’d be taking with me.
