Clicky Island Discs / Laura
Inspired by the legendary Desert Island Discs of BBC radio, we’ve asked the Clicky team; before they’re castaway on a remote desert island in the middle of nowhere with only themselves as company, what 5 songs, book and luxury item would they take with them?
Laura said: ‘The theme for my chosen songs is based around the fact that no-one else will be around when I’m listening to them, so I have a few guilty pleasures on the list’.
1. Ooh La La by Rod Stewart
Yes, I really have chosen a Rod Stewart song! I chose this one because the lyrics ring true to me – “I wish that I knew what I know now…”
2. Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani
This song brings back fond memories of dancing around my friend’s living room in the early hours of the morning way back when.
3. Back To School by Deftones
This takes me back to my school days (in my mind), and brings back great memories of festivals and rock clubs!
4. MMMBop by Hanson
This is my all time favourite ‘happy song’. I know it’s very cheesy, but I can’t help but smile when I hear it.
5. Penny Arcade by Roy Orbison
I first heard this song on holiday in a Karaoke Bar in Florida (there were a few Scottish people in there too) and it’s stuck in my head ever since!
I don’t really read much, so I would probably take something practical like a book of survival tips.
Insect (particularly spider) repellent. Give me snakes and lizards over spiders any day!
