Clicky run for Claire House

We recently announced on our social media channels that we’ll be taking part in the Wirral 10k in September to raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice, and we thought it was about time we shared an update on our training…

When do we meet?

We’ve been meeting every Wednesday at 5.15pm but with numbers getting low we’re changing this up to every Monday instead as a way to encourage more people to start the week right #MondayMotivation!

Where do we go?

Our go-to route is along the River Dee, around Chester Racecourse and back to the office along the City Walls. It includes a mix of scenery and terrain and is just under 5km so there’s still a way to go.

Do we use any apps?

Runkeeper is a firm favourite at Clicky. We mainly use it to keep track of how far we’ve been but it will also give us stats such as total time and average pace. We particularly like the motivational quotes that it gives us after each mile completed!

How is the training progressing?

Training is going well but we need to adapt our route so we can increase our distance. Our longest run so far is around 5.5km so we’re over the halfway mark but our aim is to hit 8km before the big day.

When is the Wirral 10k and how can you donate?

The Wirral 10k is taking place on Sunday 9th September at 9.30am and if you would like to donate you can do so via our Just Giving page. Claire House supports seriously and terminally ill children and their families live life to the full by helping to create wonderful memories. Visit their website to learn more about the fantastic work they do.
