Desktop vs Mobile Usage | Feb 2013 – Feb 2015

A pattern appears to have emerged over the past three years. As mobile technology develops and websites become responsive in regards to functionality and design, desktop usage appears to decline. Since 2013, mobile usage has taken 18.53% from desktop, and this figure is predicted to increase over the coming years.
Due to the increase in mobile usage, ad revenue gained from Facebook’s mobile advertising has increased massively by $962 million between Q1 2013 and Q1 2014. Desktop ad revenue only saw a $57 million increase, indicating that desktop ad revenue growth isn’t increasing anywhere near the same rate as mobile.
