Facebook Premium Video Ads

The new ads are launching following a trial in December 2013, and a subsequent launch in the USA in March.

The 15-second video adverts will start playing automatically without sound as it appears on screen in news feeds and then stop if people scroll past. If people tap the video, it will expand into a full-screen view and sound will start.
A Facebook representative said: “In the launch of the new countries we will focus on maintaining consistency on the creative expectations and quality controls and work with all of our partners to provide guidance to execute those campaigns effectively.”
Facebook also revealed that it is rolling out new video metrics globally in Page Insights and Ads Reporting for all videos uploaded to Facebook.
The company explained in a blog post: “Video metrics will be available for all paid and organic videos uploaded directly to Facebook Pages, including Premium Video Ads. The metrics will roll out gradually over the coming weeks.”
