So Google just did their annual I/O and as you can imagine they have literally blown everyones minds with their latest Ai developments.
So what were the big take aways from the day?
Gemini AI Takes Center Stage
Google unveiled Gemini Ultra, its most advanced AI subscription plan priced at $249.99 per month. This premium tier offers access to cutting-edge tools like Veo 3, an AI-driven video generator capable of producing sound effects and dialogue, and Flow, a new AI-powered video editing app. Additionally, Gemini 2.5 Pro introduced "Deep Think," an enhanced reasoning mode designed to improve the AI's problem-solving capabilities.

AI-Enhanced Search Experience
A significant highlight was the introduction of "AI Mode" in Google Search, transforming traditional search queries into interactive, chatbot-like conversations. This mode leverages the Gemini AI to provide more personalized and context-aware responses. Features like virtual try-ons and agentic checkout aim to revolutionize online shopping experiences.

Project Astra and Real-Time AI Interaction
Project Astra was showcased as Google's vision for a universal AI assistant capable of real-time multimodal understanding. Integrated into the Gemini app, Astra can process live camera input, enabling functionalities like real-time translation and contextual assistance based on visual data.
Advancements in Generative Media
Google introduced Imagen 4, an upgraded AI image generator that produces more realistic and detailed images, including improved typography. Veo 3, the latest in AI video generation, now supports native audio generation, adding sound effects and voices to enhance the realism of AI-created videos.

Android XR and Smart Glasses
The conference also highlighted developments in wearable technology with the introduction of Android XR smart glasses. Tools like PaliGemma, a vision-language model, and Firebase Genkit, designed to simplify the development of generative AI models, were introduced. In Workspace, AI enhancements now offer personalised smart replies in Gmail and real-time translation in Google Meet.
