Google Panda 4.2 Update

As we know, Google are always trying to improve the quality of their search results, and the Panda 4.2 update, is just one of the ways their trying to do this.
Confused why we’re talking about Pandas?
To put it simply, Panda is a Google algorithm that rewards or penalises business based on the quality of their content. If content quality is good, they perform better in Google’s search engine results, and vice versa. If you’re still confused, read Moz’s brilliant article explaining the various algorithms Google have.
The last time we spoke about the cuddly, bamboo wielding bear, he was going through update 4.1 . He’s now being modified again, and this time Google say he’s only affecting 2-3% of search queries, which is lower than the previous refresh of 3-5%!
The last update also saw Google favouring SME’s rather than big corporations, therefore many of the larger companies saw a drop in the rankings. Because this refresh is being rolled out slowly, effects of the changes are not yet apparent, so to date there are no clear winners or losers as yet.
The constant updates and refreshes Google implement, such as Panda 4.2 only highlight the importance of keeping your content updated. That way you’re not being whacked by the bamboo stick every time the Panda feels like changing a little.
