Google searches reflect an improving UK housing market

Take a look at this graph from Google Trends showing how searches (volume) for “mortgage” have fluctuated during the recession and recovery.
The data shows that search volume in January 2014 peaked at the level last achieved in February 2008.
Also if you look at the term “Conveyancing” (the legal process involved in moving house & possibly a more true indicator) you will notice a similar trend.
Again these figures show that September 2007 was the last time search volume reached the current levels.
All in all, from a search point of view, the market is looking good and shown steady improvement since the low point of the recession.
Good news for the housing industry, financial markets and those looking to sell.
