Google’s Panda 4.0 Update: What does it mean for you?

Well, mainly eBay’s content to be exact. The site suffered ranking losses (which we all know by now, isn’t the most important factor when thinking about SEO…), for a few specific keywords. The ranking changes were so dramatic, that even Moz have stated their surprise, with eBay falling from #6 in their ‘Big Ten’ list to #25. Pretty gruesome stuff.
Of course, as both Search Engine Land and Moz suggest, this may not have been related to the algorithm update, but we’re pretty suspicious as to why this has happened at this time.
The algorithm is there to aid smaller businesses in the battle against the larger, more aggressive sites, the spammy and content stuffed ones.
What we can take from this, however, is that if you have seen a large decrease in your traffic, Google’s not-so-cuddly Panda is probably to blame. We know our clients are fine, but we can’t promise you are. Take a look at our content strategy and copywriting services today to find out how we can keep you safe from the next Panda attack.
