Hollywood royalty landed in our backyard this month. Robert De Niro, yes the Robert De Niro, was in town to break ground on what is set to be the city’s most ambitious architectural project yet: the new Nobu Hotel, Restaurant & Residences.

As a digital agency deeply embedded in the Property & Home sector, we always keep a close watch on the developments shaping our skyline. But this isn’t just another high-rise; it’s a statement. Here’s why we at Clicky are so excited about the "vertical landmark" that’s about to redefine Manchester.
Reaching New Heights (Literally)
Standing at a staggering 246 metres, the new Nobu tower will officially be the tallest building in the UK outside of London, eclipsing Deansgate Square. The 76-storey skyscraper is more than just a feat of engineering; it is a symbol of Manchester’s growing gravity on the global stage.

What we love most about the design (crafted by the brilliant minds at SimpsonHaugh) is how it respects the city's industrial roots. The tower is rising above the historic Grade-II listed Victorian railway arches, blending the grit of our past with the glossy luxury of our future. It is that perfect mix of "classic Manchester" and forward-thinking innovation, something we strive for in our own creative campaigns.
More Than Just a Hotel
For our clients in the property sector, this development signals a massive vote of confidence in the Northern market. The project isn't just a 160-room hotel; it includes 452 residential apartments that will undoubtedly set a new benchmark for luxury living in the city.

When a brand like Nobu, co-founded by De Niro, chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and Meir Taper, chooses Manchester for its second UK location (after London), it tells the world that this city is open for business. It attracts investment, tourism, and attention, creating a ripple effect that boosts the entire local property ecosystem.
The Clicky Perspective
From our office in the Northern Quarter, we see the skyline changing every day. We help property and home brands tell their stories, and it is incredibly inspiring to see a story this big unfolding right on our doorstep.
Robert De Niro summed it up perfectly at the launch: "Manchester has real character, creative, passionate and strong."
We couldn’t agree more. That creativity and passion are what drive us every day, whether we’re crafting a new brand identity or launching a high-performance digital campaign. The arrival of Nobu challenges everyone in the city, architects, developers, and marketers alike, to level up.
We can’t wait to see this structure rise over the next few years. It’s going to be a long build (completion is slated for 2031), but good things are worth waiting for.
Until then, we’ll be here at The Hive, helping our clients build their own digital skyscrapers. If you’re in the property space and want to match your digital presence to the scale of Manchester’s ambition, you know where to find us.
