Jonney faces the Kilimanjaro challenge

We’re delighted to share the news that our Digital Branding Consultant is facing a massive challenge next week and is leaving the UK this weekend to fly to Tanzania to climb the world’s highest free-standing mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Starting on Monday 25th September, he and a group of 12 fellow climbers with ages ranging from 20 to 65 will be joined by group leader, Liz Southall and start their ascent, hoping to reach the summit by 29th September.
Jonney and his fellow climbers aim to raise an impressive £20-25,000 between the whole team, this will be shared between these four fantastic local charities which they hope will make a huge difference…

  • CRY for Matthew – Screening young people for heart defects that result in 12 young people dying each week from undiagnosed heart defects.
  • The Wingate Centre – Provides life-enriching holidays and recreational activities for children and young people with special needs.
  • The Mid Cheshire Hospital Charity – The charity for the Mid Cheshire Hospital Trust – currently raising money for their “Everybody Knows Somebody Dementia Appeal” – a subject close to Jonney’s heart as the Trust looked after both of his sons through illness in their first six months.
  • Red Shift Radio – Run by our fellow climber, Liz Southall, this is a non-profit making hub and local radio station that provides networking, support and local opportunities through their business hub and radio platform. This includes work experience, volunteer opportunity and business start up coaching in South Cheshire.

With the help of Clicky’s sponsorship, Jonney will be representing the brand during his #climbkili2017 expedition and keeping us updated throughout his trip so we look forward to sharing updates of his journey. Want to show your support to Jonney and these fantastic causes? Donate online now >>.
With a personal aim to raise £2,500, Jonney has already reached an impressive £2,000.
Jonney has been training hard for his trip with various walks in Snowdonia, he has summited Mt Snowdon seven times this year alone, plus taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge too. Joining a business networking group in Manchester called Freshwalks earlier this year also allowed him to be a part of two walks in the Peak District with a likeminded group of people so he’s more than ready to get started with the trip.

“I’m so excited, I feel ready but slightly apprehensive about not making the summit – you can’t train for altitude sickness – just hope it doesn’t affect me!” – Jonney

Join us in wishing Jonney luck with his impressive trip and we’ll be keeping you updated with his progress to let you know how he gets on!
