Mobile adspend is set to overtake TV for the first time this year
2016 looks like it’s the year where mobile adspend surpasses TV! We know just how much some of the top TV ad spots go for, which clearly shows scale of investments being made into mobile as more and more brands realise the potential it has.
According to emarketer, mobile adspend will increase 35% to £4.58 billion this year (up 13.8% for 2015). However TV spend is only set to reach £4.18 billion with 24.6% of UK media spend, which is down from 25.2% last year.
Not only will mobile overtake TV, but it’s forecast to overtake desktop as well for the first time. Desktop spend is expected to be £3.17 billion by 2020, but mobile spend will be considerably more with £8.99 billion.
