New Starter / Bryony

When someone new joins the Clicky team, we like to ask them a few questions to get to know them.
Completing the latest round of recruits is Bryony, our newest Front End Developer. Here’s what she had to say…

What’s your role at Clicky?

I’m a Front End Developer, so I build and maintain websites. I focus on building and styling the elements a user interacts with and sees when they are on a website.

Why did you choose Clicky?

I chose Clicky because of their reputation in the North West, the interesting and exciting websites they have worked on and because of the atmosphere of the company.

What are you most looking forward to working on?

I’m most looking forward to working on the variation of projects I’ll see here at Clicky. They work with a variety of clients for many different projects. Getting to experience all of that is something that definitely appeals to me.

What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Organised, Honest, Friendly

What would you say is your proudest moment?

My proudest moment would definitely be the day I graduated from my Undergraduate Master’s degree in Computer Science at Lancaster University. Not only are they one of the top Universities in the UK but my 4 years there were wonderful and I was so ecstatic to achieve my Masters!

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

I once managed to get my leg stuck in a pontoon/jetty, my foot slipped between two loose planks and my leg got stuck to above the knee. I couldn’t get myself out without help and I still remember having to be rescued by people with crowbars so they could lever the planks apart to get me out! The resulting bruise was rather impressive but then meant I had to explain how I got it until the bruise faded!

Tell us three skills or talents you possess…

I’m good at making things; I can sew, I make a pretty good chocolate cake and my job involves making websites!
I like to travel and as well as the usual holidays I’ve also sailed various tall ships around Europe and the UK. I like to think this has made me pretty good at meeting new people and traversing public transport systems in other countries without getting lost!
I love reading, I’m completely capable of getting lost in a book and have been known to read almost non-stop until I’ve completed a book.
