Our Manchester home at The Hive is looking stunning, and the team can't wait to use it
2 new floors of shared space, including a coffee shop, are now open at The Hive in Manchester's Northern Quarter, giving our team far more room to work, meet and collaborate.
There has been plenty of graft going on at The Hive over the last few months, and I am chuffed to say the new shared space run by X+Why is now officially open.
The doors opened this week, and it is quite something, with a coffee shop, cosy lounges, places to work and plenty more besides, all spread over 2 floors. Alongside our own office in the building, it gives the team far more room to work, meet and take a proper break. They have been looking forward to this one for a while, and it is brilliant to see them already making the most of it.
About The Hive
Our Manchester office is at The Hive on Lever Street, a Grade A building in the heart of the Northern Quarter. The building's owners, Grosvenor, have given it a substantial refurbishment this year, with a much more welcoming arrival across its 2 receptions, plus extensive new cycle storage and changing facilities.
The new space is run by X+Why, a B Corp certified workspace provider, and it has been designed with real care. Think warm timber finishes, partly made from materials reused from the building's previous life, tiled planters full of greenery and a mix of furniture that feels more like a hotel lobby than an office.
What the 2 new floors give our team
The new floors are open access for our team, giving everyone more choice about how and where they work each day. There is a coffee shop for a proper brew, big communal tables for heads-down work or working alongside each other, comfy lounge seating for catch-ups and a bit of downtime, and plenty of natural light from the full-height windows onto Lever Street.
There is also an honesty bar stocked with drinks and snacks, and X+Why is running a programme of events and wellbeing sessions, including monthly member drinks and breakfasts, so there is always something going on.
Why it matters
Having the right space makes a real difference. It helps ideas flow, makes collaboration easier and gives everyone room to do their best work. And a better environment for our team means a better experience for our clients, through sharper thinking and stronger results.
Looking ahead
Alongside our new Chester office opening in the new year, keeping a great base in Manchester is an important part of how we are investing in our people. The team are genuinely excited to have the new space to use, and we are looking forward to the ideas that come out of it.
