Starting our 20th year of Clicky ❤️

When I started Clicky in 2007 from a back bedroom in Chester, I didn't have a five-year plan. I had a laptop, a Skype phone line (remember those?), and a belief that businesses deserve to work directly with people who genuinely care about getting their digital growth right, with a partner they can trust.

19 years on, I've still never written that 5-year plan. We've just done the next right thing, one client at a time. And the only reason we're still here, still independent, still doing work we're proud of, is because of everyone who's ever trusted us.

To the clients who took a chance on us

Those first months in 2007 were spent earning trust one phone call at a time. Some of the brands who said yes back then are still on the books today. Others moved on, came back, then moved on again, and we're still grateful for the work you put our way. You taught us how to do this. Every proposal, every client meeting we over-prepared for, every win and every honest conversation about a campaign that needed pivoting. That's the foundation under everything we've built since.

To the clients we work with right now, who chose us this year, last year, or a decade ago. Thank you. We don't take a single £1 you spend with us for granted, and we never have.

To everyone who's ever worn the Clicky lanyard

If you've ever sat at a desk in Murlain House, the Gatehouse, St John's Court, Nottingham, or The Hive in Manchester, this part is for you.

Every milestone in our story belongs to 150+ names who showed up and did their work with pride. Some of you are still with us. Some moved on to lead teams elsewhere, start your own businesses, or change industries entirely. Wherever you are now I am proud of you all when I see what you have all achieved.

A special mention must go to my mate Sam, who joined us back in 2008. Sam recently departed the business after 18 years of incredible service. We are so grateful for the significant contribution he made to the Clicky story and for being such a vital part of our growth over the years. We wish him well and are pleased we continue to work closely together on a number of Clicky initiatives and clients.

Year 20. The biggest investment year in our story.

Last year we moved everyone under one roof at The Hive on Lever Street, Manchester. This year, year 20, is going to be the biggest yet, AI is now the driving force and believe me it is set to change EVERYTHING.

We're putting more behind the team than we ever have. More behind the tools we build for our clients. More behind the research, the technology, and the senior craft that has always been Clicky's edge. We've spent 19 years saying no to the easy shortcuts and the cheap quarter-on-quarter plays, and that's about to be true at a scale none of us have worked at before.

We're not going to spoil the surprises here. Every client we work with will hear directly from their team about what's coming for their account. Everyone on the team will hear directly about what year 20 means for them, their craft, and their next chapter.

What we will say publicly is this. Independence is still the answer. The work is going to get sharper, the technology is going to get better, and the bar for everything that leaves the building is going up again, the way it always has.
