World Cup Kit SEO: The Low-Competition Keywords Still Up for Grabs in 2026
Not every World Cup kit term is locked down. "England away kit" pulls 1,900 searches a month at a difficulty of just 17, and "world cup 2026 kits" had a near-empty results page. Here are the low-competition open goals for anyone selling kit before the tournament.
Our World Cup kit search league table showed who currently wins. This is the more useful question for anyone selling kit: where are the gaps? Put search demand next to keyword difficulty across the qualified nations and a handful of genuine open goals appear.
The open goals
The standout is "england away kit", which pulls 1,900 searches a month at a keyword difficulty of just 17, one of the highest-volume, lowest-competition terms in the entire set. "Spain kit" adds another 1,000 searches at a difficulty of 16, and host-nation "mexico kit" a further 880. At the very bottom of the difficulty scale, "south korea kit" sits at a difficulty of just 9. And the tournament term "world cup 2026 kits", with around 260 searches a month, returned almost no settled commercial results at all: a near-empty results page waiting for whoever publishes the right page first.
Plenty of nation terms sit in the low-teens for difficulty too, including Norway (KD 15), Ghana (KD 12) and Senegal (KD 10). These are not impossible mountains to climb; they are pages waiting to be built well. Even where a manufacturer currently ranks first, a low difficulty score means a genuinely better page can break in.
Our take: the tournament-specific terms are not locked down yet. Search demand for World Cup kits will climb steeply through the early summer and peak around kick-off. The brands and retailers who build genuinely useful pages now, before that surge, are the ones who will be ranking when the demand actually arrives. The worst time to start is the week the tournament begins.
How to take them
Pick the terms where demand is high and difficulty is low, build one excellent page per shirt rather than one page for all of them, and publish early so the page has time to earn its ranking.
