What is Mouseflow?

Mouseflow is a software solution which allows us to identify how users are behaving on your website. Whether you’d like to know where users are clicking, or how far they scroll, Mouseflow is an accessible and handy system to have in the toolkit.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how users behave on your website, and struggle to see past the data in Google Analytics, then tools such as Mouseflow can be really helpful in providing images and visuals beyond the numbers. This screen recording software lets us see screen recordings of users navigating through your website, and can compile this data in visual heatmaps, clickmaps, and scrollmaps.

Tools such as Mouseflow are instrumental for our CRO team to inform their experiments, but also for our Strategy & Insights team in their research projects too.


How Can We Use Mouseflow?

  • Session Recordings

    Much like Crazy Egg and Hotjar, Mouseflow allows us to capture screen recordings so we can identify exactly how users navigate your website.
  • Heatmaps

    Mouseflow also allows us to capture heatmaps too, showcasing which parts of your website generate the most traction with users.
  • Funnels

    Perhaps one of the cool additional benefits of Mouseflow is the ability to build custom 'funnels' (or paths) of user journeys. You can then monitor the point at which people drop out, and hypothesise and test to encourage more completed journeys.
  • Feedback

    As with the CRO platform VWO, Mouseflow allows us to also conduct on-page feedback forms and surveys so that users can let you know if there's something they didn't find helpful.
  • Forms

    The greatest benefit of Mouseflow though, is the ability to create custom form monitoring and analyse how users interact with and progress through forms. The resulting data helps to optimise forms or checkouts to improve your conversion rate.
