An Olympic winning website for a company with Olympic winning business strategies.

Will it Make the Boat Go Faster offer business management advice, consultancy and programmes to businesses and individuals, helping them to realise their ambitions.

The company name was born from an Olympic gold medal rowing team motto, which in short was critically evaluating every decision they made against whether it would make the boat go faster. This change in decision making clearly worked, as Director Ben Hunt-Davis and his team went from finishing in 7th place, to winning a gold medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

The client approached Clicky because they wanted a new and updated site that would clearly reflect them as a business, especially after their recent growth. They required a fresh and modern site that provided clear information of their services, yet engaged and excited users to want to learn more about Will it Make the Boat Go Faster.

What did we do?

What we do best. We built a beautiful, clean website that fitted perfectly with their branding. The site is now modern, and user friendly, and as with any project, UI and UX is considered at every stage of the design and build. The website includes a section for client videos, a page for each service offered, a blog area titled ‘magazine’ to aid with natural search efforts, and a page for users to buy the Will it Make the Boat Go Faster book.

The website was designed to incorporate large stunning imagery across the site, and developed with some subtle and playful animations that really bring the site to life.

The client’s ultimate goal for wanting a new website was to increase conversions and raise awareness for their book. Through careful planning and working closely with the client, we were able to design a website that showcased their services and book, with strong calls to action and a clever use of colour.
