For our 20th year, we rebuilt this site. Clever, fast, and fun again.

For our 20th year we rebuilt the whole site and put AI into every corner of it. And it is never finished: it grows and improves every single day, powered by AI that learns from how people actually use it. Here's what we have shipped so far.

For our 20th year, we rebuilt this site. Clever, fast, and fun again.

19 years done. Year 20 just started. For our 20th year we didn't throw a party. We rebuilt clicky.co.uk from the ground up, and we built it with AI sitting next to us the whole way.

This is the part where most agencies would tell you about AI in vague terms. We'd rather show you what's actually shipping on the site you're reading this on.

AskClicky. An AI assistant on every page.

Powered by AI

Tap the floating chat bubble in the bottom corner, or open the Ask Clicky tab inside Get Started, and you can talk to an on-site AI trained on what we do, the sectors we work in, and the case studies behind our results. Quick questions get quick answers. Bigger questions get pointed at the right person on the team. It's the front door to the agency, open 24 hours a day.

Audio read-throughs on every blog post.

Powered by AI

Every post on the new site has a built-in audio read-through. Press play and a natural-sounding voice will read the article to you, generated automatically every time a new piece goes up. Useful on a commute, useful on a walk, useful when your eyes need a break. No app to download, no paywall, just a play button at the top of the post.

We have now migrated all of our audio production to ElevenLabs, for far more natural, lifelike voices, with custom voices of our own coming next.

The Clicky Wrap. A monthly podcast, narrated by AI.

Powered by AI

Every month, every story we publish gets pulled into The Clicky Wrap, a podcast-style recap scripted by Google Gemini and voiced by ElevenLabs. Press play and you get the month in digital marketing read out in a natural voice, with each story chaptered so you can jump straight to the one you want. It lives in a persistent player that follows you around the site, and every episode is yours to download.

Story Mode on every case study.

Every case study now has a Story Mode walkthrough. A full-screen, mobile-native experience that takes you through a client project the way you'd naturally consume it on your phone. Swipe to progress, tap to navigate. Cover image, services, section previews, results, and a video all threaded together into something closer to an editorial product than a portfolio page.

AI-generated hero videos.

Powered by AI

The hero films across the site, from the Veo balloon on our 20th year anniversary post to the moving moments elsewhere, were generated with Google's Veo video model. Real briefs, real concepts, real direction. AI handled the render. Our team handled everything else. Films that would have needed a shoot day and a budget now ship in an afternoon, and the bar for what counts as a good hero image has moved up with them.

Every blog hero, generated on brand by Gemini.

Powered by AI

Here's one that runs quietly in the background. We've built a custom integration with Google Gemini, tuned to our brand, that creates blog hero images for us. When a post goes live without a hero image, Gemini reads the content of the piece and generates an original hero to match it, following a defined set of brand rules for colour, composition and style so every image comes out unmistakably Clicky. No stock photography, no empty placeholder, just a fitting on-brand hero every time.

A confetti cannon, because year 20.

Press and hold the cannon button anchored to the anniversary post hero and watch it fire. It's not strictly an AI feature. It's a reminder that the new site is a place we can put anything we want, the moment we want to. That flexibility is the real shift.

The whole site is a React app, rebuilt from zero.

The new clicky.co.uk is a single-page React application. Fast, flexible, entirely ours. No CMS licence fees. No template constraints. No platform we can't control. The blog runs from a structured data file, with all 247 posts migrated cleanly. Every image previously hosted on a third-party CDN has been brought in-house. 559 blog images and 39 case study references, all committed directly to the repo, all under our control. No dependency on an external service going down, changing its pricing model, or disappearing.

The new clicky.co.uk, rebuilt as a React single-page app

It was built with our own AI working alongside the team throughout the entire process. Not as a shortcut, not to cut corners, but as an extraordinarily capable collaborator that let us move faster, think bigger, and ship things that would have taken significantly longer to build the traditional way.

The AI stack we built it with.

We are not loyal to any single model. We used a combination of the very latest AI from across the industry, each picked for what it does best, and the mix keeps changing as the tools leap forward. Google Gemini and its Nano Banana Pro image model generated the imagery, Veo 3.1 produced the hero films, Claude and OpenAI's models did the heavy lifting on engineering and writing, and ElevenLabs now powers every voice across our audio read-throughs and the Clicky Wrap. Plus plenty more besides. The point isn't the names. It's that we know these tools inside out, and we know exactly which one to reach for, because we use them every day on our own work long before we put them anywhere near a client's.

And we're already rolling all of this out to our clients.

Everything you've just read about isn't a one-off experiment for our own site. It's the new Clicky playbook, and our teams are busy shipping it into client work right now.

AI chat assistants trained on a client's own services, case studies, and FAQs, sitting in the corner of their site and answering visitor questions 24 hours a day. Audio read-throughs of articles and news pieces, so a content investment can be consumed on a commute as well as a screen. Story Mode style walkthroughs for case studies, product launches, and high-value landing pages, built mobile-first because that's where the audience actually is. AI-generated hero video for brands that want premium motion without a shoot day budget.

All of it built on the same React-first foundation we used on clicky.co.uk. Fast, fully owned, no platform tax, and easy to iterate on the moment a client wants something new.

If you're a client reading this and you can see a fit in your roadmap, your team at Clicky already knows. The bigger conversations are happening right now. If you're not a client yet and any of this caught your eye, get in touch. We'd love to show you what's possible on your site, with the same tools and the same craft we've put into ours.

What working with AI actually looks like.

We're not going to romanticise it. AI didn't design the site. It didn't decide the strategy. It didn't write the briefs, choose the case studies, or define the brand voice.

What it did was collapse the distance between "here's what I want to build" and "here it is, built." Complex interactive components that would have taken days to prototype and refine took hours. Edge cases got caught earlier. The feedback loop between idea and implementation got dramatically shorter.

The craft is still human. The pace is different.

That's the most useful thing we can tell any client who asks us about AI right now. It doesn't replace the thinking. It accelerates everything that comes after it. The brief still matters. The strategy still matters. The judgment about what's worth building in the first place still matters. AI just makes the execution faster, and the iteration tighter.

Why this site is personal to me.

Despite my role as CEO, my heart has always been in design and development. I have personally been the designer of every iteration of a Clicky website, and twenty years on, this one is no different. Making our own site the pinnacle of what we can achieve has always mattered to me. But as with every digital agency, your own site is often the last thing to get the attention it deserves. We're usually busy doing work for clients that runs ahead of what we've done for ourselves. The pace of AI, and the new and almost limitless capabilities it gives us from a development point of view, has changed that. It means we can really start to show off again.

Oli Yeates, CEO and founder of Clicky

I also can't tell this story without a special mention for Nathan Smith, our Head of AI, who I have worked alongside every step of the way to get this site delivered. Nathan has been by my side at Clicky for 15 years, and his fingerprints are all over what you are looking at. None of this happens without him.

The point of all this is to show clients what's possible.

Every feature on this site exists for one reason. To show our clients exactly what is possible now that tools like these are at our fingertips. It's a real, working site you can click through today, built to make the abstract idea of AI in your marketing feel concrete. If you can see it here, we can build it for you.

And the site is never finished.

Here's the part we're most excited about. The features aren't the headline. What happens next is. We're continually growing and developing this site, watching how people actually use it in our analytics, and feeding those insights straight back into the AI that helps us build it. Every visit teaches us something, and the site gets a little sharper, faster and more useful because of it. That loop, real data in and AI-assisted improvements out, is the same one we bring to every client we work with.

Clicky's AI improvement loop: Google Analytics data feeds Clicky AI, which produces content suggestions, bug fixes and UX refinements that improve the website and generate new data

Year 20, and the best tools we've ever had.

When Clicky launched in 2007, we were building sites with the tools available at the time and figuring it out as we went. That hasn't changed. The tools have just got dramatically more powerful.

Every milestone we've hit has been because we've stayed close to what was actually working, not what sounded impressive at conferences. AI is working. The proof of it is sitting at clicky.co.uk, on every page you scroll through.

Here's to year 20. And now the possibilities are endless. We can't wait to see what we can make for you all.
